a library card from the University using the application form
for a card which should be obtained from our Membership

To search the Society's library catalogue click on library
catalogue then "advanced search" and select BGAS, enter
your search terms and press Go.
Specialist Books are held on…
Archaeology, architecture, history, geography, local studies, etc. Suggestions for purchase are considered by the Library Committee which acquires new books and pamphlets in accordance with our collecting policy. There is a suggestions book for the use of members.
Serials include…
Archaeologia; Public Record Office publications such as the State Papers Domestic and Patent and Close rolls; Record Commissioners' editions; and the publications of the Harleian Society, the Selden Society and the Pipe Roll Society, among others. To see a full list of periodical titles click here.
Opening Hours
Please check University Archives for current updated opening hours
Borrowing
Most books may be borrowed by members for up to three months. No member may have more than ten items out on loan at the same time.
Photocopying
The Library card issued to members also acts a photocopy card. Cards may be charged in the University Library.
Access to the University Libraries
Members of the Society's Library also become members of the University Library. This entitles them to consult for reference only any books held in any of the University's libraries
