(N.B. The help file will be automatically available if you install the program from setup.exe. However, it can be downloaded separately from here by potential users who wish to obtain further information before downloading the actual program). Please make sure you download it first rather than try to open the file directly on-line.

Volumes 1 to 110 (1876-1992) are covered at present.

After downloading the setup.exe file to your machine, 'run' the setup.exe file and a simple automated procedure will install the program on your computer.  The program can then be started at any time by double clicking on the "Red Book" icon installed on your Desktop whereupon the Search Window appears.

Each search of the index is performed by typing one or more keywords into the Input Box in the Search Window and pressing Go.  Complex searches involving bracketed terms, AND, OR and NOT logic can be made. Entries in the index which match the keywords are displayed in a separate Results Window.  The user has a choice of simply noting the results or saving them to a file or copying them into a word processor.

The index data have yet to be verified and are likely to contain some errors. However, by releasing this version at an early stage it should be possible to gauge the level of interest in the program, which in turn will assist its future development. Installation The whole of the program is contained within a single installation file named setup.exe. You will require 6.0 MB of disk space for the program and data files.

Please note that every effort has been made to ensure that the program cannot disrupt your computer and existing data. In particular no information is written to the Registry Files. All the program and data files are stored in a single folder that is selected at the time of installation. The only files to be placed outside this folder are the Desktop icon and the entry in the Start Menu. An uninstall program is included.
