Transactions of the Bristol & Gloucestershire Archaeological Society General Index Search Facility Introduction (see below for Installation) This program provides a simple, but extremely powerful, computerised search facility for the General Index to the Transactions of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society. At present, Volumes 1 to 116 (1876-1998) are covered. Starting the program by double clicking the red book icon on your Desktop loads the Search Window. Each search is performed by typing one or more keywords into the Input Box in this window and pressing Go. Complex searches involving bracketed terms, AND, OR and NOT logic can be made. Entries in the index which match the keywords are displayed in a separate Results Window. The user has a choice of simply noting the results or saving them to a file or copying them into a word processor. All bug reports and comments will be welcomed by the Author. The index data have yet to be verified and are likely to contain some errors. However, by releasing this version at an early stage it should be possible to gauge the level of interest in the program, which in turn will assist its future development.
