Victorian voters of Bristol: the 1852 poll book

BGAS member John Stevens has edited the Poll Book for the Bristol General Election of 1852, the last such volume produced before the abolition of open voting in 1872. It lists the names, addresses and occupations of over 8,000 Bristolians.

Liberal voters included the Fry (chocolate) and Wills (tobacco) families, while among the Conservatives was the famous epidemiologist Dr William Budd.
