The Society’s badge
The Society was founded in 1876, so we are getting close to notching up one and a half centuries. A Working Group is considering how best to mark this major anniversary in 2026. We envisage a series of activities and events to draw together the many people in Bristol and Gloucestershire who take an interest in heritage matters, whether professional or amateur, and offer them new insights into the history and archaeology of our area. We’re also using the approaching anniversary as a stimulus, to review how the Society currently operates, and to renew and refresh where needed.
