The late Mick Aston (1946-2013) was a long-standing member of BGAS, and he generously left the Society a bequest, which we use to provide bursaries of up to £300 per year to support young people wanting to undertake archaeology work-based or training placements.

 

Conditions

Applicants should live in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, or Bristol, and be aged between 16 and 20. We’ll also consider those living outside that area but applying for work-based/training placements within the area.

Applications should be made by the individual, and include confirmation by the training provider that adequate insurance and health and safety provision is in place.

Applications should be submitted on the form below to the Hon Secretary of the Society by 1st June each year.
