Two open days have been arranged at this excavation site (situated at Abbey Home Farm, Cirencester, Gloucestershire) as follows:

Wednesday 23 August – Open evening from 7:00pm. Site tour starting at 7:15 starting at the exhibition cabin.

These events, which are all free, are open to individuals or for group visits from local archaeological and historical societies. NB the evening event on the 23 August will be a single tour but groups are very welcome to join in.

Also, between Tuesday 8 August and Thursday 24 August the on-site exhibition cabin will be open to visitors from 9:00am until 5:00pm to view posters and display boards, but there is no public access to the excavation area apart from during the open days noted above. The exhibition is closed Mondays 14 and 21 August.

The Sisters Long Barrow is in a field beside the Welsh Way to the NE of Cirencester, part of Abbey Home Farm. It is located at NGR SP 036053. The best approach it to take the A429 northwards from its junction with the A417 to the east of Cirencester towards Stow-on-the-Wold. After about 2.5km turn left onto the Welsh Way (signposted Perrott’s Brook) and head west. There is a gateway 800m along the Welsh Way on the left with a track leading down to the site. For open days please park as directed.
